It’s the Valkeen, but much louder
I’ve been using the Valkeen for about three years and tried this whistle for the first time. It has the exact same tone, but much louder. If anything, it’s too loud. Even as a musician who teaches marching band and music, I find that this whistle hurts my ears and the players found it unpleasant and irritating as well. I think I’ll switch back to my Valkeen for now because of the volume issue.
This is a good whistle for games where you need a louder whistle to take control. If anything, it’s a good whistle to switch to from the Valkeen at half time if you’re suspecting that the second half is going to be worse. Just be aware of how loud and piercing it really is. For me, it is the difference between a 4 star rating and a 5 star rating and I’ll save it for those rare games where it might be warranted. -
Excellent Product
I use both the Valkeen and this whistle. The Kakapo is an excellent whistle.
